Basic Policy

Yushiro basic policy

Yushiro places a high priority on protecting the environment. Our Fuji Plant and Hyogo Plant have each developed their own rigorous environmental policies that take into account their unique surroundings, operations and activities, as well as ISO14001 requirements and the company's basic environmental policy (stated below).

Basic environmental policy

By developing and using technologies with minimal impact, we promote sustainable development and greater harmony between society and the environment, and we strive to protect the Earth's natural environment for the next generations.

About the ISO introduction

There was more than one reason why Yushiro chose to pursue ISO14001 certification. We wanted to help improve the local environment, reduce environmental hazards, and lower our operating costs by eliminating unnecessary labor and materials, including the wasteful consumption of resources and energy.
Our pursuit of ISO14001 certification also helped us create new businesses, streamline management, and earn greater trust from partners and associates.
Preparations for ISO14001 certification began in October 1998, and full-scale efforts were launched in April 1999. These efforts were a big success. Our Fuji Plant received ISO14001 certification from the Japan Quality Assurance Organization in March 2000, with the Hyogo Plant following in March 2001.
That marked the start of our using an environmental management system based on ISO14001 standards. At Yushiro, we are working to continually improve our environmental management system through strict auditing. In this way our efforts to earn ISO14001 certification continue to pay dividends.
